MONTGOMERIE COURSE

Papillon, Turkey

Appointed by Papillon Hotels, Colin Montgomerie is working on a new 27 hole complex in the Belek region of Turkey, 30km to the east of Antalya on the Turkish Mediterranean Coast.

Complimenting the 18 hole championship course and 9 hole resort course will be a golf academy, a hotel as well as 40 villas.

Construction began in July and the course is due to open for play in late 2007.

Colin Montgomerie officially launched the project at a signing ceremony at Wentworth, "I am delighted to be associated with the Papillon Hotels golf course at Antalya and designing what we hope will be yet another great tournament venue".

Construction Progress - November 2007

Weather Conditions : Turkish winter.

Construction Stage : Course in the grow-in stage with grassing now complete. The November site visit was to Inspect shaping of par 3 course, inspect grassed holes and review all other construction work to date including bunker sand, tree planting, drainage and lake edges.
Course due to open early 2008.
